GBK Consultants LLC 

GBK Consultants LLC (GBK), was founded in 2014 by President and CEO Mr. Gerald D. Blackman. We are a CVE certified Service-Disabled Veterans Owned Small Business (SDVOSB), as of 2015 with recertification in 2018.  In September 2021, GBK was certified as a Small Business Association (SBA) certified 8(a) company.  Founded on the principle of doing business with integrity; creating a corporate culture where employees can thrive leading to client satisfaction and mission success.

During the initial year in business our focus was to develop a solid foundation that would support growth and sustainability. We worked with several larger companies; learning the skill required to run a successful business. Learning the proper way to conduct business within the Federal, State and Local governments space was paramount.

We consulted with counselors at the Small Business Administration, Small Business Development Center (SBDC), the Procurement Technical Assistance Center (PTAC) both components of the University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA) Center for Economic Development and finally SAMS Consulting LLC. These entities all played significant roles in the development of GBK Consultants LLC. In early 2015 our focus was placed on acquiring certifications to do business with these Federal, State, and local agencies.

In November 2015 GBK was Certified, Verified, and awarded its SDVOSB certification through the Department of Veterans Affairs. Fast forward to September 2021, GBK was awarded its 8(a) certification which is good thru 10 September 2030.
